A two-day residential workshop on the theme “Bharatiya Vikas Chintan – Sustainability, in Philosophy & Practice” at RMP

YOJAK, in collaboration with Indian Institute of Democratic Leadership (IIDL) an initiative of Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini (RMP), organized a two-day residential workshop on the theme “Bharatiya Vikas Chintan – Sustainability, in Philosophy & Practice” at the Uttan campus. The workshop aimed at introducing participants to Indian perspectives on sustainable development, and connecting philosophy, policy processes, institutional arrangements and grassroots practice.

A total of 53 participants from diverse academic, social and professional backgrounds participated. Through intensive dialogue, the workshop explored questions of sustainability in the context of community life, governance systems, livelihoods, environment and value-based leadership.

The workshop was inaugurated by
Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Vice-Chairman, RMP,
with remarks by Padmashree Popatrao Pawar, Member, Managing Committee, RMP,
and opening reflections by Dr. Gajanan Dange, President, YOJAK.

Across nine thematic sessions, participants engaged with subjects such as Ekatma Manav Darshan and contemporary economics, biodiversity governance, community mobilisation, leadership development, climate treaties and international processes, livelihoods, skill development, and regenerative systems. Distinguished speakers included Prof. Dr. Varadraj Bapat, Dr. Yogesh Gokhale, Smt. Jui Pethe, Shri Manohar Padvi, Smt. Nivedita Bhide (video keynote), Shri Kapil Sahasrabuddhe, Padmashree Shri Chaitram Pawar (interview), Shri Raghunandan Velankar, Smt. Archana Patankar, Shri Sunil Dadhe and Shri Radheshyam Yadav.

The concluding reflections underlined the perspective shift needed to root sustainability in Bharatiya Vikas Chintan, understanding community institutions, and nurture inspired leadership for long-term transformative change.
