LiFE WG Outreach and Engagement

The Civil 20 (C20) Working Group is one of the groups involved in the G20 process, aiming to bring together issues, ideas, and solutions from civil societies across the globe. The C20 group is expected to leverage the diversity of our society to ensure the G20 process is inclusive, people-centered, democratic, and well-informed.

In India, C20 has established 14 working groups to address various aspects of civil society work. In the last few years, India has emphasized on “lifestyle” as one of the critical global points of discussion. Consequently, in addition to health, culture, and women-led development, LiFE (Lifestyle in Harmony with the Environment) has been identified as a crucial working group.

Dr. Gajanan Dange, from YOJAK Center for Research and Strategic Planning for Sustainable Development, has been appointed as the national coordinator of the C20 LiFE Working Group. India has a rich tradition of community-driven decision-making. During its leadership of the G20, C20 will play a vital role in showcasing the importance of community participation in decision-making, particularly concerning lifestyle. This introductory paper outlines the thought process of the LiFE Working Group and proposes objectives, programs, etc. for the LiFE Working Group during India’s Presidency of the G20.
